Snowshoeing
Northgate Trails is located just 10 minutes from Dauphin and offers snowshoe trails for beginners and seasoned winter hikers.
Where can you snowshoe in Northgate Trails?
All trails at Northgate are suitable for snowshoeing except for the Edwards Creek Connector Trail. We especially encourage you to check out our groomed trails, as snowshoeing helps keep our trails groomed throughout the winter.
The following trails are usually groomed in the winter:
- COOP Family Trail
- Parkline
- Gatehouse
- Bobsled
- Sunday Drive
- Slim Jim
- Ol’ Chap
- Dirt Nap
Depending on conditions, we may also groom Jersey Shore and Crop Duster.
Please stay off cross country skiing groomed trails when snowshoeing.

When to Go
Snowshoeing season runs from approximately mid-December to mid-March, weather dependent. Trail grooming begins immediately after the snow falls and stays on the ground.

- Headlamp if starting late
Firepits are available for use at the trailhead for cooking and warming.

Tips for your Safety
- Travel with a buddy if possible.
- Watch for changing weather and frostbite risk.
- Follow marked routes.
- All trails have numbered trail markers.
- If you have an emergency, our EMS can reference the numbered trail markers and assist you.
